In the news this week |
Edmonton is launching its annual residential street sweeping program as spring arrives, aiming to keep neighborhoods cleaner and safer.
The sweeping starts in early April, targeting roads, bike lanes, and pathways for up to eight weeks, depending on the weather.
To support the cleanup, a weekday parking ban from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. is enforced in neighborhoods scheduled for sweeping, with vehicles at risk of a $250 ticket if left on the street.
Residents can check the city's Street Cleaning Map and subscribe to updates to stay informed.
Temporary white signs mark the cleaning week at each neighborhood entrance.
Boulevards and main roads are cleaned overnight, while residential streets are swept during the day.
Driveway ramps must be removed to avoid damage, and only vehicles with valid accessibility placards are exempt from the ban.
Community cooperation is vital to Edmonton’s effort for cleaner streets year-round. Read More... |
