In the news this week |
The University of Albertaâs beloved Butterdome is embarking on a $27 million renovation to address ageing infrastructure and safety concerns.
Known for its distinctive yellow façade and role as a community hub since 1983, the pavilion will receive upgrades to its roof, exterior panels, and lighting.
New solar panels and energy-efficient features will boost sustainability and help curb the facilityâs carbon footprint.
Design updates include enhanced accessibility, windows for more natural light, and colourful elements that showcase university spirit by blending yellow and green.
A dramatic lighting feature, inspired by the North Saskatchewan River, will illuminate the campus at night and celebrate the siteâs connection to the cityâs landscape.
Renovations are set for completion by fall 2027, with efforts underway to minimize disruptions, ensuring the Butterdome remains a treasured venue for sports, events, and community gatherings. Read More... |
