Edmonton drivers have reason to celebrate as gas prices dip below $1.05 per litre at select stations, including Costco, UFA, and Esso.

This drop is largely credited to the temporary suspension of the federal carbon tax, which has made Alberta’s fuel among the least expensive in the country.

As of December 29, 2025, Calgary averages $1.06 per litre, Edmonton sits at $1.10, and provincial prices hover at $1.11.

Recent months show a steady decline, offering welcomed relief for both consumers and businesses.

Experts expect these low prices to continue into early January but advise residents to keep an eye on market trends.

Meanwhile, Edmonton is abuzz with activity, thanks to the new O-day'min Park downtown and the launch of the WinterCity Festivals and Events Grant Program, which will fund local winter festivities in 2026.

These developments highlight the city’s ongoing efforts to boost community spirit and livability.
