Alberta Drivers Brace for Another Price Jump at the Pump

Gas prices across Alberta are climbing again, and Edmonton drivers are feeling the squeeze every time they pull up to the pump.

Regular unleaded has been hovering between CAD 1.65 and 1.75 per litre in recent months, with analysts warning there may be more pain ahead.

Rising global crude benchmarks, North American refinery disruptions, and the ongoing costs of fuel distribution are all pushing prices higher simultaneously.

Seasonal demand adds further pressure, with warmer-weather driving typically keeping prices elevated through summer and into early fall.

Edmonton commuters — who depend heavily on personal vehicles — are among those hit hardest, with weekly fill-ups becoming a growing source of household financial stress.

Despite Alberta carrying some of the lowest fuel taxes in Canada, drivers here remain fully exposed to global market forces.

For now, experts recommend monitoring local price trackers, filling up earlier in the week, and using loyalty programs to soften the blow at the pump.
