In the news this week |
The Paramount Theatre on Edmonton’s historic Jasper Avenue is now officially for sale due to insolvency proceedings involving ONE Properties.
This iconic site, once a cultural hub since its 1952 debut, has been overseen by MNP Ltd. as receiver after a $9 million loan default with National Bank of Canada.
Covering nearly 28,000 square feet across several downtown addresses, the property’s prime Core Commercial Arts zoning allows for significant redevelopment, including buildings up to 150 meters.
Jones Lang LaSalle is managing the sale, presenting the property “as-is, where-is,” and inviting serious interest from developers.
While beloved by the community and noted on Edmonton’s historic inventory, the Paramount lacks heritage protection, opening doors to transformation amid a wave of major downtown transactions.
Locals and preservationists now await what the future holds for this storied Edmonton landmark. Read More... |
