Edmonton residents can boost their gardens this spring with free, high-quality compost from the city, available at Ambleside and Kennedale Eco Stations while supplies last.

This program helps reduce landfill waste while providing nutrient-rich compost made from local yard materials like grass, leaves, and branches.

Don’t forget to bring your own containers and tools for collection, and plan ahead, Coronation Eco Station is closed for expansion until spring 2027.

For safe and fair access, residents are asked to only take what they need.

Mix one part compost with three parts soil for best results, and spread thinly for mulching or topdressing.

The city’s compost is weed-free, screened for quality, and helps improve moisture retention in your garden.

Additional city programs, like compost workshops and recycling resources, support greener living year-round.

Get involved and help Edmonton grow more sustainably this season.
