Spruce Grove is rapidly becoming a population leader west of Edmonton, driving a surge in housing, infrastructure, and local services.

The city hit a milestone in 2024, growing to 40,012 residents, a jump from 38,985 the previous year.

With building permit values reaching a record $310 million and 767 new housing starts, Spruce Grove’s development boom stands out in Alberta.

This growth brings both opportunity and challenges, spurring city planners to expand transportation, schools, and health facilities while nurturing green spaces and sustainability.

The city draws families with excellent schools, diverse homes, and easy access to big-city amenities just 11 km from Edmonton.

Active community engagement and robust economic opportunities are fueling Spruce Grove’s rise as a vibrant, modern hub, proving strategic growth can create a dynamic, welcoming place to call home.
