In the news this week |
Edmonton City Council made a series of high-stakes budget decisions this week, touching on policing, homelessness, and transit infrastructure. The Edmonton Police Service budget — already the city's largest operating expense at roughly $464 million — is set to grow by an additional $9.2 million in 2026. Together, these choices reflect a city wrestling with who gets protected, sheltered, and connected — and what debt Edmonton is willing to carry to get there. Read More... |
